Spectra Energy Corp is a S&P 500 company headquartered in Houston, Texas, that operates in three key areas of the natural gas industry: transmission and storage, distribution, and gathering and processing. Spectra was formed in late 2006 from the spin-off from Duke Energy. Spectra owns the Texas Eastern Pipeline (TETCo), a major natural gas pipeline which brings gas from the Gulf of Mexico coast in Texas to the New York City area. It is one of the largest pipeline systems in the United States. Spectra also operates three oil pipelines.
Natural gas transmission pipelines are proven to be the safest form of transportation and the most reliable way to transport natural gas from where it’s produced to where it’s consumed. Compressor stations help boost natural gas through the pipeline.
Spectra Energy appreciates the skills veterans bring to our team and values the sacrifices and service you have given to our country. To learn more visit, http://www.spectraenergy.com/Careers/Military-Recruiting/
We all need energy. The great news is that we have an abundance of natural gas right here in North America. But we have to be able to transport natural gas from where it’s produced to where it’s consumed – which is exactly what our pipelines do.
To ensure our pipelines remain in safe and reliable operating condition, we employ numerous inspection techniques, which provide valuable information to ensure our pipelines continue to meet even the highest safety standards.
We support the growth of renewable energy. Unfortunately, the sun doesn’t always shine and the wind doesn’t always blow. Thankfully, natural gas fills that void left by solar and wind in a way that other energy sources cannot.
Clean-burning and domestically-abundant natural gas powers our lives in more ways than you might imagine – as an ingredient in every day products, as a heat source for other products, and increasingly to generate electricity.
