Taboola is a private company headquartered in New York City. It develops and markets a service for online content publishers and advertisers that recommends digital content to website users. Among other things, Taboola provides the "Around the Web" and "Recommended For You" boxes at the bottom of many online news articles. The content being recommended is often of little news-value and of low-quality, but popular nonetheless. The company was founded in 2007. By 2015, it had raised more than $157 million in funding.
