We want to make sure students learn how to do three things as they begin studying their Bibles — how to think, how to learn and how to work hard in pursuit of deeper knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
The Church, created by God’s Word and Spirit, is the body of Christ, sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God. We are called to come together to worship Him, and also to go, making much of Him throughout all the earth.
Through the gospel, we are not only saved from sin and death, but we are empowered to bring light to darkness and order to chaos. The gospel is not just saving sinners, but also righting every wrong and fixing every broken thing.
Pentecost marks the moment Jesus ascended to heaven and the Holy Spirit came to dwell in the hearts of God’s people. As we celebrate this day and move into “Ordinary Time,” we ought to be moved towards a deep, ongoing awareness of the Spirit in our lives.
We can begin to understand the kingdom of God through the framework of dwelling, dominion and dynasty. These ideas can help us start to see the kingdom as the presence of God, the task He’s given us and the dynasty we’ve been invited into.
